FAQs
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is not like sleep. It is a relaxed state enabling the hypnotherapist to communicate with the client’s subconscious. This relaxed state occurs quite naturally during the day, often being described as ‘daydreaming’.
Is it dangerous?
Hypnosis has been used by doctors, clinicians and therapists for many years and is acknowledged as safe and effective.
Can I be made to do things I don’t want to?
The short answer is no. Subjects can only be hypnotised if they want to be, and cannot be made to do things which they would find morally or ethically wrong.
What is Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP)?
NLP is, briefly, a system or process that seeks to describe how we communicate with ourselves and others, and interact with the world. What we learn from this process is then used to enhance or change what we do in order to make it more effective in achieving our goals.
How long is a session?
The initial history taking session normally takes about an hour. At the end of this session I can tell you whether or not I will be able to help you. Subsequent sessions usually last 40-50 minutes.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions required is determined solely by the needs of the client. Echoes Therapy is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach but a personal journey for you to a better life through clearly identified and agreed changes.
